Gene Simmons Reveals Kiss Are Back in the Studio to Record New Song

JAKARTA - The world's rock legend, Kiss, surprisingly returned to the recording studio to work on new material, although he had previously announced his retirement from the stage.

This news was confirmed directly by the bass player and vocalist, Gene Simmons, who admitted that he was busy with a musical project written by the guitarist, Paul Stanley.

"Kiss is in the studio right now. Actually, we just recorded a new song written by Paul Stanley," Simmons said in a recent interview with KISSbySienna.

"I can't tell you more about it. However, the song will be released at some point," he continued.

This move is a turning point considering that for the past decade, both Simmons and Stanley, have been skeptical of the release of a new album.

Stanley had previously doubted the urgency of releasing new material due to the tendency of audiences to prefer classic songs. However, creative energy seems to have resurfaced amid preparations for their big projects in the future.

Simmons also revealed that their "new" songs would be an important part of the Kiss avatar-based show.

The ambitious project, which is being worked on with Pophouse Entertainment, is scheduled to launch in Las Vegas in 2028.

Stanley himself described Kiss' new musical direction as something classic but still relevant to the times.

"I think we'll probably go for something classic, but everything has to have a beat. You have to be able to dance to it, but it still has to be rock music," said Stanley.

"The inspiration for the lyrics is freedom, self-empowerment, and enjoying life. It doesn't change. No matter how old you are, you should enjoy life and do things your own way. It's timeless. That's rock and roll," he said.
