The widening of the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road is being touted, the progress is 81 percent

JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) continues to accelerate work on widening the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, especially on the Kejapanan-Gempol segment.

Until the 35th week of implementation, the cumulative progress of the project has reached 81.02 percent.

The work is part of efforts to increase infrastructure capacity in the strategic corridor of the Trans-Java Toll Road.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol Ria Marlinda Paallo said that the work was carried out gradually and measured so that traffic could continue to run smoothly.

"JTT continues to accelerate work optimally by paying attention to operational aspects in the field. All stages of work are carried out through intensive coordination so that the widening work can run effectively without significantly disturbing the comfort of road users," said Ria quoted from a written statement, Friday, May 8.

The widening is carried out to increase service capacity on the section with an increasing traffic volume.

The route is an important connecting route for community mobility and logistics distribution from Surabaya to Gempol, Pasuruan, Malang and the buffer area in East Java.

Ria said that the widening of the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road is part of the company's commitment to supporting connectivity and regional growth.

According to him, the increase in road capacity is expected to support the increasingly dynamic community mobility as well as facilitate logistics distribution in East Java.

"We want to present a toll road infrastructure that is able to provide a better travel experience for road users, both in terms of comfort and time efficiency," he said.

During the work, traffic arrangements are made on a situational basis as needed in the field. JTT ensures that toll road operations continue to run normally.

In addition, the JTT also alerted officers and work safety equipment to maintain the safety of road users and construction workers.

JTT appeals to road users to anticipate travel, ensure the adequacy of electronic money balances, comply with traffic signs and follow the instructions of officers in the field.

Furthermore, the company also apologized for any inconvenience that may arise during the work. Road users are expected to understand the process as part of improving the quality of toll road services.
