PT LEN Subsidiary Employee Becomes Witness in DJKA Bribery Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Ushadi Laksana, an employee of PT Len Railways System (LRS) today. He was questioned as a witness to the alleged bribery of the railway line construction project of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

LRS is a subsidiary of PT LEN Industri (Persero). This company is engaged in engineering to construction, one of which focuses on railway signaling to telecommunications.

"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih building," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Friday, May 8.

In addition, investigators also scheduled an examination of another witness, namely Muchamad Hicmat, who is the owner of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma and PT Hapsaka Mas.

Budi has not detailed the material for summoning the two witnesses, including Ushadi.

He also has not informed whether there is any connection between the examination and the new investigation that is rumored to be being carried out by the KPK.

The KPK is investigating corruption allegations related to the railway signaling project based on source information. The work is said to have been carried out by PT LEN's subsidiary, PT Len Railways System, in the 2023-2025 period.

Meanwhile, in the DJKA case, the KPK continues to develop the bribery case for the construction of the railway line project of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) in East Java. Most recently, Sudewo as a former Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2020-2024 was named a suspect.

Then, the KPK also promised to investigate the members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 who enjoyed the flow of money. One of them is Lasarus as the Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at that time and was said in the trial to enjoy a project fee of 10 percent.

Lasarus is suspected of receiving money flows with members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions who are suspected of enjoying fees. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.
