Minister of Transportation Appreciates ASDP for Continuing to Strengthen the Transformation of National Crossing Services
LJAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) continues to strengthen the transformation of national crossing services through strategic collaboration with the government. This commitment was emphasized in the meeting of the ASDP Board of Directors with the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Dudy Purwagandhi in Jakarta, which discussed strengthening operational services, infrastructure readiness, to optimizing national logistics connectivity.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transportation appreciated the performance of ASDP during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation which was considered to have gone well, especially on the main track Merak-Bakauheni.
"The management of vehicle and passenger traffic, which is increasingly organized, the strengthening of cross-stakeholder coordination, and the optimization of services are considered to have succeeded in maintaining the smoothness of community mobility during the homecoming and return flow periods," he said in a written statement, Friday, May 8.
Throughout the period of homecoming H-8 to H+8 at 06.00 WIB, the total passengers on the 15 national monitoring routes reached 4.72 million people or increased by 6.6 percent compared to last year. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles crossing was recorded at 1.21 million units, up 8 percent compared to the same period last year. This increase reflects the high mobility of the community, which is balanced with optimal management of crossing services during Lebaran Transportation 2026.
However, the government also considers the need for strengthening services on a number of other strategic routes such as Ketapang-Gilimanuk which still face challenges in logistics density and road access conditions.
For this reason, the Ministry of Transportation together with ASDP will continue to strengthen anticipatory steps through the optimization of ship operation patterns, the utilization of buffer ports, to the development of a more adaptive service scheme.
President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Heru Widodo said that the government's appreciation was motivation for the company to continue to improve services on an ongoing basis.
"ASDP expresses its gratitude for the support and appreciation from the Minister of Transportation for the Eid Transportation service which has run well. The evaluation and direction given are an important foothold for ASDP to continue to strengthen the quality of national crossing services," said Heru.
According to him, the operational pattern that has been successfully applied on the Merak-Bakauheni track will be a reference in strengthening services on other strategic tracks, so that an increasingly effective, efficient, and integrated operational system is created.
In addition to discussing passenger services, the audience also highlighted the strengthening of national logistics connectivity through the development of long distance ferry (LDF) services. A number of potential routes, including Makassar-Semarang and Panjang-Jakarta, received government support to be followed up as part of efforts to increase the efficiency of distribution of goods between regions.
User Service NeedsASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale said that the transformation of services run by ASDP is not only focused on operational smoothness, but also building a crossing transportation system that is increasingly modern and based on the needs of service users.
"ASDP continues to strengthen the digitization of services, vehicle flow arrangements, and overall operational readiness so that the public can have a safe, comfortable, and increasingly seamless travel experience," said Windy.
In the future, ASDP together with the Ministry of Transportation is committed to continuing to strengthen national crossing services as the backbone of inter-regional connectivity and national logistics distribution.
