BOGOR - The city of Bogor today, Friday, May 8, held a Tatar Sunda Cultural Kirab "Napak Tilas Padjadjaran" in the context of the Tatar Sunda Milangkala or the anniversary of the 2026 West Java Province.
The cultural parade is part of the series of Tatar Sunda Day commemorations which were officially designated by the West Java Provincial Government through West Java Governor Regulation Number 13 of 2026 and the West Java Governor's Decree Number 003.05/Kep.159-Adpim/2026.
Before arriving in Bogor City, the parade group had carried out cultural travel in a number of areas, such as Tasikmalaya, Garut, and Cianjur.
In Bogor City, the parade is scheduled to start at 19.30 WIB from the Batutulis Pajajaran Museum to the Bogor Botanical Garden, specifically in Astrid Park. In the procession, the Binokasih Sanghyang Paké Crown will also be laid, a symbol of the greatness of the Sunda Kingdom of Pajajaran.
This cultural activity involves at least 27 art centers from regencies and cities in West Java with a total of around 885 participants. In addition, as many as 14 adat villages throughout West Java also took part in the series of events.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said the cultural parade was an important momentum to strengthen the preservation of Sundanese culture as well as to strengthen unity between regions in West Java.
"Before the activity, we will carry out a cleaning at Bumi Ageung. This big activity must be supported together. Regional apparatus and all elements must support so that all series of activities can be carried out as well as possible," said Dedie, Thursday, May 7.
Dedie added that Bogor City has a special opportunity to become one of the areas that Mahkota Binokasih Sanghyang Paké stops in the series of historical footprints of Pajajaran.
On Thursday morning, the crown carried by the Karaton Sumedang Larang delegation was greeted directly by the Bogor City Government upon arrival at Bale Pakuan Padjadjaran.
According to Dedie, the Binokasih Sanghyang Paké Crown is an important symbol of the Pajajaran Kingdom which was previously used by the Sunda kings.
"Bogor gets a special opportunity, because the closeness between Bogor and Sumedang, especially with the history and background that when the Pajajaran Kingdom moved to Sumedang, some artifacts, including historical inscriptions, are all now in Karaton Sumedang Larang," he said.
He said that the crown was a symbol of the greatness of the Sunda civilization in the past. Based on the results of research by the Ministry of Culture and the West Java Provincial Government, the Binokasih Crown is said to be contemporary with the Majapahit Kingdom.
Through this cultural parade, the Bogor City Government hopes to strengthen the relationship between regions in West Java as well as strengthen commitment in preserving the cultural heritage of ancestors.
