Warmly Welcoming Prabowo in the Philippines, the Diaspora Conveyed Hopes for Indonesia

JAKARTA - The presence of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in Cebu, Philippines, in the context of attending the 48th ASEAN Summit was greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the Indonesian diaspora living in the country. One of them is Romo Agus Sudaryanto, a pastor at Santo Vincent Cebu.

He admitted that he was happy and touched that he could finally meet in person and chat for a while with President Prabowo. "So far I can only see from the video of his visit abroad, but now on the spot. In fact, I was asked," said Romo Agus, Thursday, May 7.

Romo Agus also told his excitement because he had a casual conversation with Prabowo about his life while living in the Philippines. He conveyed to Prabowo that he had been living in Cebu for 15 years.

"I was asked where it came from? From Madiun. Oh it's been a long time. Can you speak here? Oh yes, yes sir," said Romo Agus.

Furthermore, Romo Agus assessed that Prabowo's presence in the midst of the Indonesian diaspora brought pride. He even said that Prabowo's figure was becoming more widely known, including in the Philippines.

"Our President is world-class, especially in neighboring countries, especially the Philippines where we live," he said.

Romo Agus added that the people of the Philippines often ask about Indonesia. Therefore, he feels proud to be able to introduce Indonesia through the leadership of the competent Prabowo era.

"Filipinos often ask how Indonesia is, and we have President Prabowo Subianto who is so amazing. That is, the impression is happy," he added.
