Former BJB President Director Sentenced to Free Sritex Corruption Case
SEMARANG - The Semarang Corruption Court has ruled that the former President Director of Bank PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten, Tbk (BJB) Yuddy Renaldi is free in the alleged corruption case of granting credit facilities to PT Sritex which has caused the regional government-owned bank to lose around IDR 670 billion.
"Declaring the defendant not guilty according to the public prosecutor's indictment for all of them," said Presiding Judge Rommel Franciskus Tampubolon in the trial reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 7.
During the trial, the panel of judges proved the public prosecutor's indictment, which was prepared in a sub-subsidiary manner, namely the violation of Article 603 of the Criminal Code or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which has been amended by Law.
According to the judge, there was never an order, emphasis, or intervention from the defendant to process the credit application of PT Sritex.
He said the defendant actually asked for the credit application to be processed according to the provisions.
"There is no evidence that the defendant has abused his authority or position in deciding the credit application," he said.
In addition, he said, no subjective errors or malicious intent, either intentionally or negligently, were found.
"The defendant does not have the will to fight against the law. The legal consequences that occur in this case are not the consequences of the defendant's actions, but from other parties outside the knowledge, power, and will of the defendant," he said.
He said the defendant also never knew about the engineering of financial reports carried out by PT Sritex.
In his ruling, the judge ordered the defendant to be immediately released after the verdict was read.
The judge also ordered that his ability, position, and rights and dignity be restored because he was not proven guilty in all of the prosecutor's charges.
Against this decision, the judge invited the public prosecutor to carry out further legal efforts.
Previously, the Public Prosecutor demanded Yuddy Renaldi with a sentence of 10 years in prison in the case.
