Keep on Calling, Check the Progress of the Pekanbaru Ring Road Toll Road that Connects Riau Without Stopping

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has accelerated the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) Rengat-Pekanbaru section, especially the Pekanbaru Junction-Bypass Pekanbaru section.

As of April 2026, the construction progress of the project has reached 76.30 percent, the progress of land procurement has reached 85.08 percent.

The toll road along the 30.57 kilometer is divided into three sections, namely the Pekanbaru-Rimbo Panjang Junction Section along 5.70 kilometers, Rimbo Panjang-Siak along 11.70 kilometers and Siak-Bypass Pekanbaru along 13.17 kilometers.

In April 2026, a number of major works will be carried out in parallel at several points of the project.

The work includes Common Borrow Material (CBM), Separator Layer, Abutment Pile Slab, Spun Pile excavation, Lean Concrete (LC) to Rigid Pavement.

Strategically, the section will become an integration node that connects the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road with the Pekanbaru-XIII Koto Kampar Road.

Thus, road users can later travel across the section in an integrated manner without having to pass through non-toll roads.

Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani said that the acceleration of the construction of the section was part of the company's commitment to supporting the development of national infrastructure and the completion of the JTTS network.

"We continue to optimize the construction progress by prioritizing the quality of work and safety in the field," said Hamdani.

Hamdani assessed that this section will become an important node that integrates the toll network in the Riau region.

Thus, providing mobility convenience for the community while increasing the efficiency of logistics distribution on the island of Sumatra.

According to him, the presence of the Pekanbaru Junction-Bypass Pekanbaru section is projected to have an economic impact on the Riau Province and the surrounding area.

In addition to reducing travel time and reducing logistics costs, the section is also expected to open access to new economic growth centers and reduce traffic loads on national roads.

"With the trend of progress continuing to increase, we are optimistic that this section can be completed immediately according to the target and provide benefits for the community, as well as strengthen the connectivity of the JTTS network as a whole," he added.

In order to support the work of the Rimbo Panjang Intersection on the Pekanbaru Ring Road project which intersects with the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Highway KM 16, a gradual closure of the lane/traffic engineering will be carried out from May 2 to October 31, 2026.

Road users are advised to be careful, follow the instructions of officers and traffic signs available and pay attention to travel information before crossing around the work site.
