Ammar Zoni vs. the title of the Bandar: PK is the actor's last hope
JAKARTA - Celebrity Ammar Zoni through his lawyer, Krisna Murti, confirmed that his client would not appeal the court's decision regarding the drug trafficking case that ensnared him. Instead of an appeal, the legal team chose a legal step in the form of a Review (PK).
This statement was made directly by Krisna Murti to clarify the confusion of news circulating in the community regarding the continuation of the case of Irish Bella's ex-husband.
"First I will answer first so that the news is not confusing. That the result of our discussion with Ammar Zoni, we have decided that Ammar Zoni will not appeal, but we will make an effort to review it," said Krisna Murti in West Jakarta, Tuesday, May 5.
Krisna explained the main reason why his party was reluctant to take the appeal route. According to him, the 14-day deadline given by law to appeal was considered too short and tight.
The legal team felt that they needed more free time to prepare a strategy and collect new (novum) evidence.
"That's why we need time. Well, while the 14 days given in the rules we have to appeal, this is too tight. Well, we better prioritize how it will be in the future," explained Krisna.
Furthermore, Krisna revealed that his party found a number of irregularities behind the verdict handed down to his client. The evidence that is being collected will later be focused on denying Ammar Zoni's status as a drug dealer or drug dealer.
Ammar Zoni's party believes that the actor is purely a victim of abuse or use, not part of a narcotics trafficking syndicate as alleged.
"Why are we making efforts to review it. Because there are many things we find here are irregularities. Then from these irregularities, we will first collect them and it takes time to collect evidence," he said.
"If we find this evidence, we can believe that Ammar Zoni is not the perpetrator of the crime as decided, he is a dealer or distributor rather than the drug itself. So we say we will review it again," concluded Krisna Murti.
