Fire in a Mall Near Tehran Kills 8 People
JAKARTA - A major fire at the Arghavan commercial shopping center in Andisheh, near the Iranian capital, Tehran, killed 8 people and injured 41 others.
The Fars News Agency, the head of the Shahriar district in the Tehran province, said the victims died in a fire at the commercial complex on Tuesday local time.
As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, May 6, the head of the Andisheh fire service previously stated that all people trapped in the fire and smoke in the building had been evacuated to a safe place, while the burning building was confirmed to be empty.
According to the official, the composite material on the outside facade of the building caused the fire to spread quickly, so that the fire spread to all parts of the outside of the building.
He also ensured that the cause of the fire in the shopping center was still being investigated further.
