KPK Investigates Alleged Money to Budi Karya Sumadi After Checking the Transportation Expert Staff

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will trace whether there is a flow of money to the former Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi related to the alleged bribery of the railway construction project of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the investigation was carried out after investigators obtained information about the alleged receipt of money made by staff, especially Robby Kurniawan. This figure has undergone an examination on Tuesday, May 5.

"We will still delve into it (whether there is money passed on to Budi Karya Sumadi or not, ed)," Budi told reporters quoted on Wednesday, May 6.

Budi explained that Robby allegedly received money from vendors who got the train line construction project in DJKA. But, he did not specify the amount.

"In this examination, the investigators investigated the testimony of witnesses regarding the alleged conditioning or plotting of goods and services providers or vendors who later worked on projects at DJKA," he said.

"In addition, investigators are also investigating the alleged receipt of project fees for the suspects, Brother SDW and also Brother witness," he continued.

In the future, Budi said investigators would continue to investigate the receipt of the fee. Witnesses who are suspected of knowing will be summoned.

"Yes, of course this will still be needed again for investigators to conduct examinations of other witnesses to complete the information that has been provided, both from today's witnesses and previous witnesses," said Budi.

Meanwhile, Robby after undergoing an examination chose to remain silent. He only admitted that he had given information while rushing out of the Red and White KPK building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
