Police Issue Second Call for Suspects in Sexual Violence of 50 Santriwati at Ponpes Pati
PATI - Polresta Pati has sent a second summons letter for the suspect of sexual violence against female students at Ponpes Ndolo Kusumo, Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency, Central Java.
"Previously, we had issued a first summons on May 4, 2026, but the person concerned did not attend without a clear explanation. The investigator again issued a second summons on May 7, 2026," said Head of Criminal Investigation of the Pati Police, AKP Iswantoro, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 6.
He hopes that the suspect with the initials AS (52) can meet the call to facilitate the legal process.
If they do not return to the call, then they will be forcibly picked up according to the provisions of the KUHP.
Currently, the whereabouts of the suspect are still being sought by the team in the field.
The police suspect that the suspect is not in the Pati Regency area and has moved without providing information to the family or legal advisors.
"We are still searching for the suspect. There are indications that the person concerned is not in Pati and has not given any news to any party," he said.
Regarding the number of victims, he has only one victim who has officially reported the case to the police.
However, his party opened the widest possible space for other victims and witnesses who have additional information to report, with the guarantee of confidentiality of identity.
Meanwhile, several other children are still in the status of witnesses in the investigation process.
He also revealed that some witnesses had withdrawn their statements, so investigators continued to investigate the facts to strengthen the evidence.
Polresta Pati also opened a complaint post to facilitate the reporting process.
The determination of suspects in this case was carried out on April 28, 2026, after investigators collected sufficient evidence. Prior to the determination, investigators had examined the reporter, a number of witnesses, and expert witnesses. The reporter was also examined in his capacity as a witness.
The case of alleged sexual abuse began with the victim's report in 2024. However, on the way, he had obstacles due to the efforts to settle the family, so that several witnesses withdrew their statements, so that at present, only one active reporter.
However, investigators continued the legal process after receiving reinforcement from the testimony of other witnesses who confirmed the alleged incident.
Regarding information circulating regarding the number of victims, which is said to have reached dozens of people, the police confirmed that they had not received official information to support the claim.
