Bogor - DKI Matangkan Cooperation in Transportation and Flood Management
BOGOR - The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) encourages the strengthening of cross-regional collaboration within the framework of the Jabodetabek agglomeration to address various urban issues in an integrated manner, ranging from transportation to flood control.
This was discussed in a strategic meeting between Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim and DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, May 4.
During the meeting, a number of priority agendas were discussed, including the development of the Jabodebek LRT, the integration of the TransJakarta service from Bogor to Blok M, and the improvement of connectivity to the Bubulak Terminal.
Apart from transportation, the two parties also highlighted the importance of collaborative flood management. Given the interconnected river flow system, the handling is considered to be carried out from upstream to downstream by involving various areas in one coordination.
The discussion also covers opportunities for grant support and cross-sector cooperation, especially in waste management, environmental preservation, capacity building for fire prevention, and the development of sustainable transportation infrastructure.
The strengthening of the Jabodetabek agglomeration concept is also a focus, especially after having a legal basis through national regulations. This is expected to make coordination between regions more structured and effective.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized Bogor's strategic position as a buffer city for Jakarta, so that cross-regional synergy is an urgent need.
"Issues of transportation, flooding, the environment, and disasters cannot be solved alone. There must be a joint step within the framework of agglomeration so that the handling is more comprehensive and has a real impact on the community," he said.
