Minister of Culture Jajaki Cultural Diplomacy for Palestine

JAKARTA - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon received a visit from Palestinian media communication expert, Tayser Hamdan Sulaiman, at the Ministry of Culture Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 5. The meeting discussed opportunities for cultural collaboration to strengthen Palestinian humanitarian and independence support.

Fadli emphasized that Indonesia remained in a position of supporting Palestinian independence. He asked that this support continue to be maintained, both by the public, government, and parliament.

"I encourage the Indonesian people, the government, and the parliament to continue to support Palestinian independence," said Fadli.

According to Fadli, the issue of Palestine is not enough to be discussed through political channels. A cultural approach also needs to be used to build public awareness. The way is through museums, educational spaces, and humanitarian themed exhibitions.

He assessed that these spaces can help the public understand the situation in Palestine more fully.

Tayser conveyed his appreciation for Indonesia's welcome and commitment. He emphasized the importance of presenting the Palestinian narrative based on direct experience to the international public.

During his stay in Indonesia, Tayser has met people in a number of regions, including Sumatra and Java. He also plans to visit various universities to share his views on the condition of Palestine, including Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank.

Tayser also highlighted the humanitarian issue in Palestine. One of them is the threat to children's access to education, especially children with special needs.
