5.2 Million Ton Rice Stock, Amran Reveals RI Exports Fertilizer to Australia
JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman will report the development of Indonesian food to the President at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 5. He said that the national rice stock currently reached 5.2 million tons.
"Later we will report on the development of Indonesian food," said Amran.
According to Amran, the condition of rice stocks is at 5.2 million tons. In addition to food, he also revealed the development of Indonesian fertilizer exports to a number of countries.
"Now our stock for rice is 5.2 million tons," he said.
Amran said Indonesia had exported fertilizer to Australia. The amount reached 250,000 tons.
He also said that India requested a supply of 500,000 tons of fertilizer. The request, said Amran, was conveyed directly by the Indian Ambassador to him.
"India also asked for 500,000 tons, the ambassador called me directly," said Amran.
Apart from Australia and India, Amran said Brazil and the Philippines were also on the list of countries interested in Indonesian fertilizer. However, he did not specify the amount of demand from the two countries.
For export values, Amran has not given any figures. He only said that his calculations were still being prepared, while the largest demand so far came from India with 500,000 tons.
