DKI Provincial Government Retains Tax-Free and Odd-Even Vehicle Policies in Jakarta
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government ensures that incentives for battery-based electric vehicles continue. Starting from the exemption of Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB), Motor Vehicle Name Return Tax (BBNKB), to the exclusion of odd-even rules are still maintained.
This policy follows the direction of the central government through the Minister of Home Affairs Circular regarding fiscal incentives for electric vehicles. Thus, the direction of DKI Provincial Government policy remains in line with national efforts to encourage a clean energy transition.
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Lusiana Herawati emphasized that the tax incentive for electric vehicles has not changed.
"After the issuance of the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Number 900.1.13.1/3764/SJ regarding the provision of fiscal incentives in the form of PKB and BBNKB exemptions for battery-based electric motor vehicles, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government policy is in line with the provisions, namely to continue to provide incentives in the form of PKB and BBNKB exemptions for battery-based electric vehicles," said Lusiana in his statement, Tuesday, May 5.
According to him, this policy is not merely a fiscal incentive, but part of a strategy to encourage a shift to low-emission vehicles in Jakarta.
On the other hand, the transportation sector also continues to provide ease for electric vehicle users. The DKI Provincial Government ensures that the odd-even rule does not apply to battery-based electric vehicles.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo said this policy was deliberately maintained to accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles.
"We will continue to maintain the odd-even policy for battery-based electric vehicles. This policy is part of efforts to encourage the use of more environmentally friendly vehicles, in line with commitments to reduce emissions and strengthen sustainable urban transportation systems," said Syafrin.
He emphasized that the development of electric vehicles cannot stand alone, but must be integrated with public transportation policies and emission control in a comprehensive manner.
