Brantas Abipraya Accelerates People's School Project, Target Ready to Use June 2026
JAKARTA - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has accelerated the construction of People's Schools (SR) in a number of areas to ensure that the project can be used in the 2026 school year.
As a construction SOE, the company ensures that all construction processes run according to quality standards, timeliness, and occupational safety and health (K3). Project acceleration is carried out in several locations, including in Minahasa and two areas in South Kalimantan, namely Banjarbaru and Barito Kuala.
Until the beginning of May 2026, the progress of the People's School in Minahasa reached 37.51 percent. This achievement includes the work of the main structure, steel structure, light steel, to the work area.
The realization of the planned curve (S-Curve) also recorded a positive deviation of 2.36 percent, which indicates that work is progressing faster than the target. Meanwhile, the progress of construction in Barito Kuala and Banjarbaru has reached 52.49 percent and also shows a positive deviation from the plan.
Independent Commissioner of Brantas Abipraya, Isra D. Pramulya, emphasized that the acceleration of construction was balanced with quality control.
"We ensure that the construction of this People's School is not only completed on time, but also meets the highest quality standards and prioritizes aspects of occupational safety," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, May 5.
In the midst of this acceleration, Isra said the project faced a number of challenges, including high rainfall and scarcity of solar (fuel) which had an impact on the distribution of natural materials such as sand, both for field work and supply to the batching plant.
"In response to this challenge, Brantas Abipraya has implemented various strategic steps to maintain the target for project completion on June 20, 2026," he said.
Isra said the company added two mobile crane units, bringing the total to four units, and changed the method of casting plates from a conventional system to a metal deck to increase time efficiency.
"Optimization of work is also carried out through the implementation of three shifts," he said.
In addition, acceleration is carried out by using GRC super panel facade material to replace the shaft plaster, as well as changing the structure of the high school building from reinforced concrete to profile steel.
In South Kalimantan, the acceleration of the project is carried out through the use of bondex to replace conventional formwork and wire mesh for floor plate casting. The number of workers has also been increased to 600 people, including through mobilization using a chartered plane.
In terms of logistics, the company accelerated the procurement of materials such as ceramics, MEP, and furniture by maximizing warehouse rentals. Material delivery was also diverted using Hercules aircraft and air cargo to ensure the smooth supply amid distribution constraints.
"The acceleration that is carried out does not sacrifice quality. This is our effort to ensure that the project can be completed faster while still meeting the best standards," said Isra.
Isra said the construction of the People's School is part of Brantas Abipraya's contribution to improving the quality of human resources through the provision of decent and equitable access to education.
This school is designed with an integrated boarding house concept which is equipped with facilities for education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, teacher housing, student dormitories, mosques, multipurpose buildings, canteens, and sports facilities.
"In the future, Brantas Abipraya will continue to strengthen its role as a strategic partner of the government in the development of infrastructure, especially the education sector. Through this project, we are committed to helping build the foundation of Indonesia's superior human resources," said Isra.
