Volkswagen's New Era ID. Polo Begins, Comes with a Range of 454 Km
JAKARTA - Volkswagen introduced the new ID. Polo, a fully electric version of one of the most successful models in its history. Sold more than 20 million units, Polo is now entering a new phase of being completely redesigned and systematically directed to the future.
Citing its official website, Tuesday, May 5, this model was developed in Wolfsburg and ID. Polo combines a clear design, spacious space, and high quality.
"Polo is bringing Volkswagen's best-selling car into the electric era. For decades, Polo has been part of people's daily lives. With ID. Polo, we are making electric mobility accessible to more people," said Volkswagen brand CEO Thomas Schäfer.
"With a clear and timeless design, intuitive operation, strong quality, and technology from the higher segment. A true Volkswagen as our customers expect from us," he added.
The Volkswagen ID. Polo will be available with a new efficient front-wheel drive and in three power levels with 85 kW (116 PS) to 155 kW (211 PS), with a range of up to 454 km.
The first variant uses a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which is combined with an 85 kW (116 PS) motor that allows acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 11 seconds, and has a WLTP measured range of 315 km.
The improved powertrain specifications present a 99 kW (135 PS) drive motor, allowing an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 9.8 seconds, and a longer battery range of up to 329 km WLTP. Both the 116 PS and 135 PS versions with a 37 kWh battery can receive DC charging up to 90 kW, resulting in a 10-80 percent charge in 23 minutes, while AC charging up to 11 kW.
The highest specification variant is a 155 kW (211 PS) drive engine, which is capable of pushing the ID. Polo from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The car is equipped with a 52 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery specification, which provides a range of up to 454 km based on the WLTP standard.
