Netizens Are Angry That The Garuda Symbol Is Reversed When Indonesia Is Crushed By Vietnam: Losing Doesn't Matter! This Is National Self-Esteem

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team was crushed by Vietnam with a score of 4-0 in the continued match of Group G of the 2022 World Cup Qualification in the Asian zone which was held at the Al Maktoum Stadium, Dubai, Monday, June 7 evening local time.

In that match, the Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong rotated three players in the first 11 line-up.

The three names who had competed against Thailand on Thursday, June 3, namely Egy Maulana, I Kadek Agung, and Witan Sulaeman were not introduced from the early minutes against Vietnam.

The rest, Shin continues to play with the same players, namely team captain Evan Dimas, goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata, midfielder Syahrian Abimanyu, striker Kushedya Yudo, and the Pratama defender quartet Arhan, Arif Satria, Rizky Ridho and Asnawi Mangkualam.

With this strategy, Indonesia will not move in front of Vietnam. Vietnam scored four goals in the second half through Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Cong Phuong, and Vu Van Thanh.

However, during the break in the first half, the Instagram account @vietnam.football.teams took actions that hurt Indonesian citizens. The account has the Garuda symbol upside down.

The post went viral after being reposted by the @galeri.sepakbola.indonesia account.

"Okay, if you want to be arrogant or psychic, you can do it. But why does the media have to post the Garuda logo backwards, you know what to do now, gasss", wrote @galeri.sepakbola.indonesia in the caption.

The post has now disappeared (deleted), both from the @vietnam.football.teams and @galeri.sepakbola.indonesia accounts.

However, netizens were already emotional and vented their anger in almost all posts of the @vietnam.football.teams account after the match. Netizens consider this act as racism.

"It's not a matter of losing! This is a national pride", wrote one Indonesian netizen.

"The real problem is that because this account posts the national symbol upside down and is considered racist, our side fights against any issue because it's racist", another netizen commented.

"CONGRATS BROO BUT UR ACCOUNT IS VIRAL ABOUT UR RACISM", wrote another netizen.
