Sparks in the Electrical Network, the KRL Rangkasbitung Journey was Delayed This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The journey of the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line was interrupted on Monday afternoon due to a disturbance in the overhead line (LAA) power network. A spark incident on the LAA pole forced officers to turn off the power flow for safety reasons.

This disruption has a direct impact on the operation of the KRL on the Pondok Ranji-Sudimara line, which cannot be passed temporarily since around 16.30 WIB.

"For the safety and travel of the Commuter Line and LAA Network, the LAA flow is temporarily turned off," said KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan in a statement, Monday, May 4.

As a result of the blackout, train travel on the Rangkasbitung line could not run normally. A number of trips were forced to be shortened to avoid the accumulation of series on the affected line.

"For the time being, the Commuter Line journey from Rangkasbitung/Parung Panjang is only to Serpong Station, while the Commuter Line journey from Tanah Abang is only to Kebayoran Station," explained Leza.

KAI Commuter said that officers are currently still handling the location to restore the LAA network. The repair process is said to take place in the midst of rainy conditions which also affect work in the field.

To reduce the impact of delays, operational pattern engineering was implemented during the normalization process.

KAI Commuter also apologized for the travel disruption that occurred during the afternoon rush hour. Users are asked to follow the instructions of officers at the station and monitor the latest information through official applications and social media channels.

Meanwhile, disruptions to LAA networks like this often have a wide impact because they are the main source of electricity supply for KRL operations, so that even temporary outages can immediately stop train travel on the affected lines.
