Malang Becomes a Tourism Destination, Lalin Volume in GT Kejapanan Increases by 27 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) noted an increase in traffic volume during the 2026 Labor Day long holiday period. One significant spike occurred in the flow of vehicles to Malang through the Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate (GT).

In the period from H-1 to H+1 Labor Day, namely from April 30 to May 2, 2026, a total of 94,677 vehicles headed to Malang via the Main Kejapanan GT. This figure increased by 27.12 percent compared to normal traffic of 74,479 vehicles.

In addition, vehicles heading to Surabaya via the Main Kejapanan GT also increased by 4.30 percent, with a total of 76,864 vehicles from the normal condition of 73,696 vehicles.

Overall, the increase in mobility is also reflected in traffic to the East Trans Java area through the Cikampek Utama GT which reached 99,109 vehicles, up 7.61 percent from the normal traffic of 92,096 vehicles.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol Ria Marlinda Paallo said that there was also an increase in vehicle traffic from the East to Jakarta.

"For vehicles from the East Trans Java region to Jakarta via GT Cikampek Utama, a total of 86,575 vehicles were recorded, up 5.49 percent compared to normal traffic of 82,072 vehicles," said Ria as quoted from a written statement, Monday, May 4.

In East Java, an increase in traffic was also seen on GT Singosari.

Vehicles heading to Malang were recorded as 49,430 vehicles or an increase of 12.33 percent from the normal condition of 44,004 vehicles.

Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Surabaya reached 41,863 vehicles, up 12.02 percent from 37,370 vehicles.

In contrast, in the GT Warugunung, vehicles heading to Surabaya actually recorded a decrease of 4.82 percent to 58,399 vehicles from the normal condition of 61,359 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the direction of Jakarta decreased by 2.83 percent to 57,311 vehicles compared to the normal 58,978 vehicles.

In the Central Java region, the traffic flow to Solo via GT Banyumanik was recorded at 80,821 vehicles or an increase of 8.57 percent from the normal condition of 74,439 vehicles.

Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Jakarta reached 58,634 vehicles, an increase of 8.51 percent from 54,035 vehicles.

Meanwhile, in GT Kalikangkung, vehicles heading to Semarang recorded 51,755 vehicles or down 1.58 percent from normal conditions of 52,584 vehicles.

Vehicles leaving Semarang also decreased by 10.45 percent to 40,047 vehicles from the previous 44,722 vehicles.

PT JTT appeals to Trans-Java Toll Road users to continue to prioritize safety during their journey.

Users are asked to plan their trip well and ensure that the condition of the vehicle and the driver are in good condition.
