KPK Ready to Fight Pre-trial Petition for Former Deputy Chairman of PN Depok
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) respects the pretrial filed by Bambang Setiawan as a former Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court (PN) at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). This lawsuit is said to be owned by every suspect, including Bambang who is entangled in the alleged bribery of land dispute executions.
"It is the right of every citizen to test the formal aspects of the law enforcement process, and the KPK considers it as part of the checks and balances mechanism in the judicial system," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement quoted on Monday, May 4.
Budi ensured that the case of bribery in the execution of land disputes had been investigated according to procedure. "Both in the determination of suspects and the implementation of forced seizure efforts that are the object of this pre-trial," he said.
The KPK is also optimistic that this pretrial will be rejected by the panel of judges, such as the lawsuit filed by I Wayan Eka Mariarta as the former Chairman of the Depok PN.
"The verdict is a confirmation that all the processes that the KPK has carried out have been in accordance with the legal corridor," he said.
Furthermore, the KPK said that the legal bureau team would prepare the file and be ready to face the pretrial filed by Bambang.
"We believe that the pre-trial is precisely the space for objective proof, that every action we take has a strong legal basis and can be held accountable to the public."
Bambang is known to have filed a pretrial lawsuit to the PN Jaksel on Tuesday, April 28. The application was registered with case number: 60/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL.
