Lexus Ready to Introduce the Latest 7-Passenger Electric SUV on May 6
JAKARTA - After much rumor, Lexus has just sparked enthusiasm in the global automotive market by announcing plans to reveal their latest SUV, which is scheduled for May 6, 2026.
Through a mysterious silhouette that began to be spread on its official Youtube channel, this model is believed to be the first three-row (7-passenger) electric SUV from the Japanese luxury manufacturer.
Launching Car and Driver, Monday, May 4, there is much speculation that this vehicle will carry the name Lexus TZ, a line that is positioned to become the new standard for modern families who want luxury without emissions.
Technically, the Lexus TZ will stand on the same foundation as the 2027 Toyota Highlander EV and the Subaru Getaway. However, don't get me wrong; Lexus is sure to maintain its status as a premium brand by providing a contrasting differentiation. In addition to a sharper exterior design, TZ will be equipped with a much more exclusive interior with high-end materials, providing a more airtight, smooth, and personal driving experience compared to its one-platform siblings.
In terms of performance, Lexus does not seem to want to compromise. Unlike the Highlander which has a smaller battery option, the Lexus TZ is expected to immediately adopt a jumbo battery pack of 95.8 kWh as standard. With this capacity, this car is predicted to be able to travel more than 480 kilometers in one charge. The power is also predicted to be more fierce, likely to adopt a 420 hp-powered All-Wheel Drive dual-motor system - comparable to the Subaru Getaway but far beyond Toyota's standard output.
The public's curiosity will be answered soon through the official launch event which will be broadcast live on May 6 at 21.30 US Eastern Time (EST).
