JAKARTA - Kobbie Mainoo led Manchester United to defeat Liverpool 3-2 and also ensured the Red Devils entered the Champions League again after being absent for two seasons, in the 35th week of the English League match at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester, Sunday night.

Mainoo, as reported by Antara, scored the winning goal after the two teams drew 2-2 thanks to Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko's goals for United and Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo's goals that made the Reds equalize.

This victory makes MU maintain third place in the English League standings with 64 points from 35 matches, guaranteed to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Liverpool are tied for fourth place with 58 points from 35 games.

MU took the lead early in the sixth minute after Matheus Cunha broke Liverpool's goal.

After falling behind by two goals, Liverpool continued to threaten, including a shot from Cody Gakpo that went wide of MU's goal.

The hosts maintained a 2-0 lead until the first half was over.
