BPH Migas Ensures the Stock-Distribution of Fuel in West Java is Safe
JAKARTA - The Oil and Natural Gas Upstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) ensures that the availability and distribution of Fuel Oil (BBM) in West Java runs normally and safely after monitoring at a number of SPBU.
"We want to ensure the availability of fuel stocks and also ensure that every product sold by the Assignment Business Entity is in accordance with the standards that have been determined," said Member of the BPH Migas Committee Bambang Hermanto as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 3.
He said that monitoring was carried out by BPH Migas in Garut, Pangandaran, and Banjar, from April 30 to May 2, 2026 to ensure the stock, quality, and distribution of subsidized fuel.
During the review, BPH Migas found that the operational vehicles of the Garut Regency Environmental Service (DLH) were filling subsidized fuel.
Bambang explained that public service vehicles such as garbage trucks, ambulances, funeral cars, and fire trucks are entitled to use the Specified Fuel Type (JBT) of solar oil in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 191 of 2014.
"Vehicles used to transport garbage, cooperate in one of the SPBU in the city (Garut). Operational vehicles are entitled to fill with subsidized solar oil, this is in accordance with the provisions," he said.
He hopes that supervision of the distribution of subsidized fuel can continue to be strengthened by all stakeholders considering the price difference with non-subsidized fuel is quite large.
"We hope that all stakeholders will jointly help monitor so that this fuel subsidy is more targeted," said Bambang.
Meanwhile, Sales Branch Manager Retail Garut Pertamina Patra Niaga Jamal Bachtiar ensured that fuel stocks in the Garut area were safe and sufficient and urged the public not to make excessive purchases (panic buying).
"We appeal to all consumers and users of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles not to panic buying because in the Garut area the fuel stock is safe and sufficient," said Jamal.
Support for controlling the distribution of subsidized fuel was also conveyed by the National Business Association (Hiswana) Migas.
Head of the Fuel Station Section of the III Branch Board of Directors, Hiswana Migas Garut, Irfan, stated that his party was ready to support the government's policy to distribute fuel properly and ensure quotas according to community needs.
At the operational level, the owner of the gas station in Garut, Dewi Sri Fitriani, said that his party had implemented the purchase of subsidized fuel using a QR code according to procedures and checked the data before filling.
Monitoring was also carried out in Pangandaran, where one of the users of subsidized fuel, Dodo, admitted that the service at the gas station was running smoothly without any obstacles.
"The service at the gas station is very good, there are no obstacles and no problems. The use of QR codes is also implemented smoothly and well," said Dodo.
