PetFest This Year Invites Visitors to Adopt Animals Through 'House of Love'
JAKARTA - PetFest is back with a fresher and more meaningful concept. This year, the gathering of pet owners is not only focused on the commercial area, but also carries a greater humanitarian mission through an adoption campaign.
Partnership & Event Creation Director of Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Edwina Tirta, revealed that there was a significant difference in this year's implementation.
If previously the area presented was more dominated by sales from breeders, this time PetFest - The City Where Pets Belong provides a wider space for animal shelters.
"This year we are increasing the shelter area. So we encourage people, instead of buying, maybe they can help (animals) who need it more," said Edwina when met in BSD, Tangerang, Friday, May 1.
To support this mission, the organizers present a special area called "House of Love by PetFest". This area is a center for visitors who want to know more about the adoption process and interact directly with animals from various shelters.
Even though the focus is on adoption, Edwina ensures that facilities for breeders are still available, but with a more organized layout.
"For the cattery and kennel places, there are also, we just separate the area. So on the right side, there will be a kennel area, on the left side it is a cat area. We work together with Royal Canin," he added.
Not only about adoption and shopping for animal needs, this year's PetFest also offers a more interactive experience for all family members who attend. Visitors can enjoy an aviary area that contains various collections of beautiful and unique birds.
Another interesting thing, there is a unique attraction in an area called Petropolis. Children who come to PetFest can experience the thrill of traveling around like in a mini city by riding a horse.
"We make one experience, children who come to PetFest can ride a horse around the city. So later if you have a horse again, it is Petropolis' horse," concluded Edwina.
For information, PetFest Indonesia 2026, with the theme "Petropolis", is present as the largest pet festival in Hall 8-10, ICE BSD City on May 1-3, 2026. This event presents more than 200 brands, petting zoo, education, and adoption area "House of Love".
The interactive experience for animal and anabul lovers can be accessed by purchasing an entrance ticket for Rp50,000.
