Garuda Indonesia Enters the Top 25 Best Airlines in the World, a Positive Signal for Service Improvement
JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia has good news in the midst of service improvement. The national airline is on the list of the 2026 World's Best Airlines by AirlineRatings.com and is in 24th place in the category of The World's Best Full-Service Airlines for 2026.
Garuda is the only airline from Indonesia to be included in the list of the world's 25 best full-service airlines. This position is important because it comes at a time when the company continues to strengthen its performance, services, and competitiveness.
Garuda Indonesia President Director Glenny Kairupan said the achievement was a positive signal for the company's transformation process.
"In the midst of the challenging dynamics of the global aviation industry, this achievement is certainly a positive signal that reflects the progress of the company's transformation program," said Glenny in an official statement received on Friday, May 1.
Glenny said Garuda would continue to accelerate service improvements. However, the improvement did not stop in the cabin. The company also reorganized operations and strengthened digital services so that passengers would feel more changes.
"Garuda Indonesia is committed to accelerating various performance transformations that not only focus on improving services in general, but also optimizing operations and developing the digitization of services sustainably," he said.
AirlineRatings.com assesses passenger experiences during flights. The assessment includes product improvements in the cabin, food during the flight, to the service of the flight crew.
This achievement reinforces Garuda's position amid the company's efforts to strengthen services and competitiveness. In the very tight aviation industry, Garuda's inclusion in the top 25 list is a sign that the improvements made are beginning to be read at the global level.
Garuda is now preparing a wider renovation, ranging from cabin service standards, ground services, lounge facilities, digital services, to in-flight entertainment.
The improvement is still based on the characteristics of Garuda's services through the "5 senses" experience concept: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
