Gojek Examines Presidential Regulation to Cut 8 Percent of Mitrra Drivers
JAKARTA - The application-based transportation service provider platform (applicator) Gojek stated that it was ready to review the reduction of income deductions taken by the application company from online motorcycle drivers to eight percent.
This follows Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 27 of 2026 which has been signed and announced by President Prabowo Subianto on the 2026 International Labor Day at the National Monument, Jakarta, Friday.
"GoTo always complies with government regulations, including President Prabowo Subianto's instructions regarding the protection of online transportation workers, which are contained in Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026," said PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) President Director Hans Patuwo in a statement confirmed by ANTARA.
"Currently we will conduct an assessment to understand the details, implications and adjustments that are necessary in accordance with the regulations," he added.
Furthermore, Hans said his party also continued to coordinate with the government and all stakeholders related to the rules.
"So that GoTo/Gojek can continue to provide sustainable benefits to all people, especially Gojek's mitradriver and customers," he said.
Previously, President Prabowo had signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 27 of 2026 to reduce the income deduction taken by the application company from online motorcycle taxi drivers to eight percent.
"I say here, I don't agree with 10 percent, it must be below 10 percent," he said.
The President emphasized that this policy was taken to defend the rights of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) who work hard every day and risk their lives on the streets. According to him, the revenue sharing scheme that has been in place has still not provided justice for drivers.
Prabowo said that previously the app developers asked for a deposit or a 20 percent cut of the driver's income.
Through this new regulation, the government has set a new standard that is much lower to increase the net income of online transportation workers.
