Polda: Sopir Taksi Green SM Pemicu Tabrakan Kereta Baru 3 Hari Kerja
JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said the driver of the Green SM electric taxi with the initials RRP who was involved in a train accident at the Ampera, East Bekasi crossing on Monday (27/4), had only been working for three days when the incident occurred.
"From the results of the interrogation of the online taxi driver or driver who has been asked for information, the person concerned has only worked since April 25, 2026," said Budi at Monas, Central Jakarta, Thursday, April 30, reported by ANTARA.
When questioned, RRP admitted that he only received a short training for one day before starting work. The training was only limited to basic introduction of electric car features.
"So regarding how to drive, how to start the vehicle, this is just the basic introduction that was done one day. Well, how to turn on, turn off the car and how to turn on the turn signal, park and others. This is happening, this is still being investigated by the investigators," said Budi.
Until now, RRP has undergone two examinations on Tuesday (28/4) and Wednesday (29/4). However, his status is still a witness.
The fatal accident that occurred on Monday (27/4) evening killed a total of 16 people and dozens of others were injured.
The incident was triggered by the strike of a Green SM taxi in the middle of a piece of crossing due to an electrical system failure. The car was then hit by the KRL that passed.
As a result of the first accident, a series of KRLs to Cikarang stopped at Bekasi Timur Station.
In this stopping position, the KRL series was actually hit from behind by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, causing the rear car of the women's special ring to be broken and taking away dozens of lives.
