IHSG Forecast Thursday before May Day Holiday, Watch the Stock Recommendations

JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) has the opportunity to test the level of 7,156 in trading, today, Thursday, April 30, after yesterday closed up 0.41 percent to 7,101.2.

Phintraco Sekuritas in its research said that the strengthening of the JCI was triggered by a technical rebound, because it was in the oversold area and the JCI still remained above the 7,000 level. The industrial sector recorded the largest increase (2.41 percent), while the raw materials sector recorded the largest weakness (1.08 percent).

Phintraco Sekuritas explained, technically, the MACD indicator is still forming a negative histogram widening. Stochastic RSI is in the oversold area, but has not shown a reversal.

"It is estimated that the JCI has the opportunity to test the MA5 level around the level of 7,156, but it needs to be aware of the potential for profit taking ahead of the long weekend," wrote Phintraco Sekuritas.

The stockbroker explained that the index on the Asian stock exchange tends to move mix on Wednesday, April 29, considering the latest developments regarding the conflict in the Middle East and OPEC.

From the US, the March 2026 PCE prices index will be released, which is expected to rise at the level of 3.3 percent from 2.8 percent in February 2026 on Thursday, April 30. Meanwhile, the data on US economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 is expected to grow 1.5 percent QoQ from 0.5 percent QoQ.

From China, investors will look at April manufacturing and non-manufacturing data on Thursday. Meanwhile, from the Euro Area, data on GDP for the first quarter of 2026, inflation, unemployment rates, and the results of the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting on Thursday will also be released.

According to the consensus, it is estimated that the ECB will still maintain the benchmark interest rate at the level of 2.15 percent. Likewise with the BoE policy outcome forecast which potentially still maintains the benchmark interest rate at the level of 3.75 percent.
