Democrats in the US Congress Consider Suing Trump over the Iran War

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party in the US Congress is considering suing President Donald Trump if he continues the war with Iran after May 1 without legislative approval.

According to Time, Trump's 60-day deadline to obtain congressional approval for military operations against Iran will fall on May 1.

After the deadline, he is legally required to get legislative approval or ask for an additional 30 days to withdraw troops.

The Democrats have not made a final decision on the lawsuit and are still trying to take various legislative steps.

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, April 29, Senator Adam Schiff plans to hold a re-vote on the resolution restricting the president's authority in war this weekend.

Following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, dozens of Democratic Party members harshly criticized the Trump administration's policy as it was considered risky for triggering an escalation and violating constitutional procedures.

However, the US Senate has repeatedly rejected resolutions aimed at limiting the president's authority in military operations against Iran.
