CIX Disband After 7 Years, Younghee Leaves for Military Service
JAKARTA - K-pop group CIX will disband after completing their activities for seven years. C9 Entertainment agency also explained the status of each member's contract.
Yonghee, one of the group's members, will leave for military service as an active soldier starting May 11. His exclusive contract will end in time before he ends his contract.
The four members of CIX also chose to leave C9 Entertainment but they have contract status with different dates.
"CIX, who spent seven years with fans in various activities after debuting on July 21, 2019, will end their group activities," C9 Entertainment said.
"Although we have continued to discuss in depth with the members for months about the group's activities, everyone agrees at this point, ending the group's activities is inevitable," he continued.
The exclusive contract will end with BX and Seunghun on April 30, unlike Yonghee whose status ends on May 11. The agency confirmed that there was no farewell event with Yonghee but there was a small event held before he left.
"Yonghee applied for military service and after completing basic training at the center on May 11, he will fulfill his military duty as an active soldier," the agency said.
"We are giving support to Hyunsuk who is filming and his exclusive contract will end on May 31," C9 Entertainment said.
CIX is a K-pop group that debuted in 2019 with five people, one of which is Bae Jinyoung. In 2024, Jinyoung decided to leave after his exclusive contract was completed.
CIX has released several albums and toured Japan and Europe, which ended in November 2025.
