So a Fake Doctor, Former Finalist of the Indonesian Princess of Riau was Arrested by the Police after Allegedly Causing the Victim to be Permanently Disabled

JAKARTA - The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Riau Police has dismantled illegal practices in the health and beauty fields.

A woman with the initials JRF, who is known to be a former finalist of the Riau Indonesian Princess, was named a suspect for allegedly running a beauty practice as a doctor without having a background in medical education or authority as a health worker.

The arrest was made after investigators from Subdit IV Ditreskrimsus Polda Riau found evidence of illegal medical actions that caused a number of victims to suffer serious injuries to permanent disabilities.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Riau Police, Kombes Ade Kuncoro, said the suspect had allegedly confessed to being a doctor and performed various medical beauty treatments on patients at the clinic he managed.

"The suspect is suspected of practicing medical acts without competence and without authority as a medical professional. From the results of the investigation, the actions taken have actually caused serious impacts on the victims," said Kombes Ade, Wednesday (29/4/2026).

JRF was secured by the investigation team on Tuesday (28/4/2026) at his family's residence in the Bukit Ambacang area, Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, after previously missing two calls from the investigator's examination.

Ade revealed that this case began with a report from a victim with the initials NS who underwent a facelift and eyebrow facelift at the Arauna Beauty Clinic, Jalan Tengku Bey, Pekanbaru, on July 4, 2025.

Instead of getting treatment results, the victim actually experienced heavy bleeding and serious infections on the face and head after the action was taken.

"The victim suffered from festering wounds, serious swelling, and had to undergo further treatment and surgery at several health facilities in Batam," said Ade.

As a result of this action, the victim suffered permanent disability in the form of a scar on the scalp that caused the hair to not grow back, as well as an elongated wound in the eyebrow area.

Investigators also found that the victim in this case was not just one person. To date, there are at least 15 victims who are suspected of having damage to the face and other body parts due to the actions taken by the suspect.

"One of the victims even experienced a failure of the lip surgery twice, which caused permanent disability and psychological trauma," said the Akpol 2000 report.

From the results of the investigation, continued Ade, the suspect was known to have carried out beauty practices from 2019 to 2025. The clinic he managed offered various types of aesthetic actions at varying rates.

"For one of the actions, the victim is known to have paid up to Rp16 million," said Ade.

The Riau Police also revealed that the suspect did not have formal education in the fields of medicine and health.

However, it is known that JRF had attended a beauty training in Jakarta in 2019 and obtained a training certificate which was originally intended for medical personnel or professional health personnel.

"Based on the results of the examination, the suspect can attend the training because he has a close relationship with the organizers," explained Ade.

Armed with the certificate, the suspect then opened a beauty practice and allegedly performed various medical procedures on his clients independently.

After undergoing a series of investigations, witness and expert examinations, this case was officially upgraded to the investigation stage on February 26, 2026.

Investigators then tracked the whereabouts of the suspect until finally the arrest was made in West Sumatra.
