Chery Demonstrates Extreme Tiggo 9 Crash Test, How Was the Result?

JAKARTA - Chery continues to be committed to family safety, this time through an open collision test demonstration of the Tiggo 9 in the 2026 International Business Summit series at the Chery Crash Safety Laboratory.

Carrying the spirit of 'Safety. For Family' as part of the philosophy of 'For Family For Love', this test is proof that safety is the main foundation in every development of Chery products. The crash test was carried out with a scenario of three vehicles at once and was witnessed directly by global dealers, international media, consumer representatives, and invited guests from various countries.

For Chery, safety is not just a standard, but a real form of protection for families in various road conditions. Therefore, product development not only focuses on comfort and technology, but also on the vehicle's ability to deal with high-risk situations that are relevant to daily use.

Strengthen Commitment Through a Global Standard Safety Ecosystem

This commitment is strengthened through the development of a sustainable safety ecosystem. Over the years, Chery has continued to strengthen its safety reputation through various crash test achievements, including achieving a five-star safety rating from independent institutions such as Euro NCAP, ANCAP, and ASEAN NCAP.

Behind these achievements, Chery is supported by a crash test laboratory facility that has been operating since 2010 and is one of the leading ones in Asia. This laboratory is equipped with eight crash test tracks, multi-directional simulation capabilities, and more than 200 test scenarios, and has bagged certifications from international institutions such as CNAS, VCA, and TÜV. This facility allows Chery not only to meet global regulations, but also to conduct more complex scenario-based testing.

Real Risk Simulation on the Road

In this test, the Tiggo 9 became the core vehicle that was tested through a three-vehicle collision scenario at once, a situation that represents a chain of accidents that often occur on toll roads and at intersections.

In this scenario, the Tiggo 9 received a front-end collision from the Tiggo 7 at a speed of 50 km/h and a rear-end collision at a speed of 40 km/h almost simultaneously. This condition provides a large pressure on the vehicle structure, safety system, and overall emergency response ability. Compared to a conventional one-way collision test, this scenario provides a more complete picture of the vehicle's safety performance in real situations.

From scenario-based testing to the development of safety technologies closer to real-world conditions, the Tiggo 9 crash test shows how Chery continues to strengthen the meaning of protection in every product. In line with the spirit of "For Family For Love", Chery believes that a calm family journey starts with reliable safety, even in the most challenging conditions.

This approach is also relevant to the character of Indonesian consumers who place the family as the main priority, so that the safety aspect becomes an important consideration in choosing a vehicle. In the future, Chery will continue to develop higher safety technology and standards, so that every family trip will be safer, more comfortable, and meaningful.
