Today, the First Session of the Andrie Yunus Torture Case is Held

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Military Court II-08 is scheduled to hold the first hearing with the agenda of reading the indictment in the case of alleged persecution of activist of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) Andrie Yunus today, Wednesday, April 29.

"Yes, there is no change in the trial," said the spokesperson for the Jakarta Military Court II-08, Endah Wulandari, when confirmed by Antara, Wednesday, April 29.

Based on the website of the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, the trial falls under the type of criminal case against the body intentionally or due to negligence with case number 70-K/PM.II-08/AL/IV/2026.

The first session is scheduled to take place in the morning at around 10.00 WIB in the Garuda Meeting Room or the main courtroom.

During the trial, the defendants will be present in person in the courtroom.

Endah guarantees that the trial process is carried out professionally, independently, impartially, transparently and accountable.

"At 10.00 WIB. The defendant was present in the trial," said Endah.

The trial is the initial stage in the legal process of the defendants who are suspected of being involved in the persecution of Andrie Yunus.

In this case, there are four military members who have been designated as defendants. They consist of three officers and one ensign, namely Captain NDP, Lieutenant One (Lettu) BHW, Lettu SL, and Sergeant Two (Serda) ES.

Based on SIPP, the defendants were charged with a layered or subsidiarity charge.

For the primary indictment, the defendants were charged with Article 469 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.

Then, the charge of subsider was imposed under Article 448 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 with a maximum penalty of eight years in prison.

Meanwhile, the more sub-subsidiary indictment uses Article 467 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
