Kadin Chairman Did not Attend Mediation, West Java Kadin Conflict is Getting Worse

BANDUNG - Mediation of the West Java Chamber of Commerce dispute at the Bandung District Court is again at a standstill. The reason is that the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, Anindya Bakrie, as the main defendant was not present at the meeting that was supposed to bring the principals together.

Nizar Sungkar's lawyers, Jhon Sitepu and Tri Laksono, assessed that Anindya's absence made it difficult to open a peaceful space. According to them, mediation is not sufficiently represented by lawyers because this case concerns the direct decision of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce.

"Even though this is a mediation that should be attended by the principals," said Jhon Sitepu at the Bandung PN, Tuesday, April 28.

The mediation finally ended without results. The mediator suggested that the plaintiff send a letter to Anindya to discuss the possibility of peace. The proposal was questioned by Tri Laksono. According to Tri Laksono, the summons should be made by the mediator, not imposed on the plaintiff.

"We will consult with our client, Mr. Nizar Sungkar. If he refuses, we propose a call through PTSP," said Tri.

The only principal present was Agung Suryamal. He came as a party who was once trusted to be a caretaker to organize the Muprov Kadin West Java.

"I am here to respect the law and the court. Whoever wins must be respected," said Agung.

Agung emphasized that the Muprov Bandung which produced Nizar Sungkar as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce was held in accordance with the AD/ART. He hopes that all elements of the West Java Chamber of Commerce will unite again. If it is not achieved through mediation, he said, the parties must wait for the court's decision.

This dispute began with two Muprov Kadin West Java on September 24, 2025. The Bogor Muprov chose Almer Faiq Rusydi, while the Muprov in Grand Preanger Bandung chose Nizar Sungkar.

Nizar then sued the Bandung PN. He asked the court to cancel Anindya Bakrie's decision letter which confirmed Almer as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce. Nizar also demanded material and immaterial compensation, including immaterial losses of Rp20 billion.

In the previous process, Nizar submitted four peaceful options. He asked to be inaugurated as the Chairman of the West Java Chamber of Commerce. If not, the management is divided into two, each 2.5 years. Another option, Muprov again or wait for a legal decision in the South Jakarta PN and Bandung PN.

Nizar's party said that Muprov Bandung had a legal basis because it was held by a caretaker formed by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry through SKEP/030/DP/IV/2025 on April 30, 2025. Nizar's management structure was also said to have been submitted to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 9, 2025, but has not been ratified.

Instead of certifying Nizar, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointed Almer in Cirebon on November 27, 2025. This decision is now the center of the dispute.
