Pontianak Satpol PP Viral Destroys Ukulele Singers, Mayor Apologizes
JAKARTA - The Mayor of Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Edi Rusdi Kamtono apologized for the act of the Satpol PP destroying the busker's ukulele guitar. Edi Kamtono promised to replace the ukulele that was damaged.
"As the Mayor of Pontianak, I apologize and will give strict sanctions to these individuals. As a music lover, I am also concerned, therefore I will replace the musical instrument and invite the city's buskers to become better and more advanced together," said Mayor Edi Kamtono in a video statement, Monday, June 7.
Satpol PP officers destroy the ukulele buskers viral on social media. In the video, the officer smashed the ukulele by breaking it by slamming it into the right leg.
Meanwhile, the Pontianak City Satpol PP denied any damage. According to him, Satpol PP destroyed 5 ukuleles which had not been taken for 2 years and the owner was not clear.
The Pontianak Satpol PP said the destruction was stated in the annihilation report Number: 352.1/BPPD/POLPP.P2D/2021.
The Pontianak City Satpol PP emphasized that they routinely control buskers at intersections/traffic lights that disturb public order.
For the buskers who were caught, coaching was carried out by the Pontianak City Social Service and the Pontianak City P2KBP3A Service through PLAT in Pontianak City.
"For the ukulele that is still in the Satpol PP, if the person concerned has finished coaching at the PLAT, they can take it by making a statement not to repeat the violation of singing at a crossroads," said the Pontianak Satpol PP statement via Instagram polpp.ptk
