Pertamina Drilling Prepares Jack Up Rig for the Development of the Mako Gas Field
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) through the PDSI - ADES Consortium has obtained a contract to provide a jack-up drilling rig to support the development of the Mako Gas Field in the Duyung Working Area (WK) managed by the West Natuna Exploration Limited (WNEL) Joint Working Contractor (KKKS).
The Mako field is located off the coast of Natuna, Riau Islands Province, with a sea depth of about 80 meters.
This project is one of the strategic developments to increase the national gas supply.
The President Director of Pertamina Drilling Avep Disasmita said that the support for the provision of the rig was part of the company's commitment to encourage an increase in national oil and gas production.
"Pertamina Drilling together with ADES is ready to fully support the development of the Mako Field by providing a reliable and high safety standard jack up rig. This is our real contribution in supporting the increase in the national gas supply," said Avep, Tuesday, April 28.
He added that the development of the Mako Field has a significant meaning because the gas potential from the Natuna region can be utilized for domestic interests.
In addition, this project is expected to be able to strengthen national energy resilience and support the increase in Indonesia's oil and gas lifting.
Based on the development plan, the Mako Gas Field is expected to be able to produce around 120 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.
According to Avep, the success of this project not only has an impact on increasing production, but also provides a multiplier effect for the national economy.
"We hope that this project will run smoothly, on time, and provide optimal benefits for the nation and the country of Indonesia. This is part of a joint effort to encourage an increase in national oil and gas production," he said.
