Korlantas Polri: Kecelakaan Kereta di Stasiun Bekasi Timur Berawal dari Kendala Taksi Listrik
JAKARTA - The Subdirectorate of Traffic Accidents (Subditlaka) of the National Police revealed that the collision between the KRL and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train in East Bekasi was allegedly started by a disturbance on an electric taxi at the Ampera intersection.
The Deputy Head of the Traffic Police, Kompol Sandhi Wiedyanoe, said the electric four-wheeled vehicle experienced a short circuit or electrical failure while on the tracks.
"As a result of the vehicle problem, there was a collision involving the train with the vehicle and disrupted the process of other train journeys," said Sandhi, Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
He explained, the initial incident involving the electric car only caused material losses. However, the impact continued because the journey of other trains was also disrupted.
According to Sandhi, the KRL that was waiting for the evacuation process was suspected of not receiving comprehensive and accurate information regarding the condition of the track. In this situation, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train passed at a speed of about 110 kilometers per hour until it finally collided.
"Due to lack of information and coordination, there was a collision at Bekasi Timur Station which resulted in several deaths," he said.
Currently, the electric taxi driver has been secured at the Bekasi City Metro Police to undergo further examination.
"The driver has been secured at the Bekasi City Metro Police for further investigation," said Sandhi.
The National Police is still conducting an investigation to uncover the exact sequence of events. The investigation is carried out using the Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) method.
Sandhi explained that the TAA technology was used to reconstruct events before, during, and after accidents. The equipment is capable of recording the location of the incident in 360 degrees and producing a 4K quality three-dimensional visualization.
"The result will be an electronic evidence in the investigation, prosecution and trial process," he concluded.
