Jamaah Calon Haji Diimbau Tak Pergi Sendirian, Terapkan Sistem Pendamping
JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) appeals to Indonesian prospective pilgrims not to travel alone and implement a companion or buddy system with a minimum of three people while in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Head of the Jamaah Protection Section (Linjam) of the PPIH Saudi Arabia Makkah Working Area Tulus Widodo said that the implementation of the system is aimed at maintaining security and anticipating various possibilities that could harm pilgrims and officers in the Holy Land.
"For officers and worshipers, every movement must be carried out as a buddy system. Buddy system in this case is not two, we urge at least three people," said Tulus in Mecca, Tuesday, April 28, reported by ANTARA.
Tulus also reminded prospective pilgrims who will arrive in Mecca to always be disciplined in carrying the Nusuk card when they want to go out of the hotel, in line with the tightening of entry rules by the Saudi Arabian Government.
In addition, he also asked the pilgrims not to arbitrarily choose transportation and only use official white or green taxis to go to the Grand Mosque. The reason is that only official vehicles are allowed to enter the mosque area.
"If you use a dark taxi, it is certain that you cannot enter the prohibited area. This has the potential to make pilgrims have to get off at a location far from the Grand Mosque," said Tulus.
Indonesian prospective pilgrims who are currently still in Medina will begin to be sent to Mecca on April 30 to perform the obligatory umrah and prepare to perform the peak of the hajj in Armuzna.
Based on data as of Monday (28/4) at 14.30 WIB, a total of 44,985 prospective pilgrims (116 flight groups) have been sent to Saudi Arabia since operations began on April 22. Of this number, 41,913 people (108 clusters) have arrived in Medina.
In 2026, Indonesia will receive a quota of 221,000 people, consisting of 203,320 regular pilgrims and 17,680 special pilgrims.
