Played by Alicia Silverstone, the Sequel to the Film “Clueless” Was Cancelled
JAKARTA - The sequel to the film Clueless, which is planned in the form of a series, was not worked on by Peacock. Although actress Alicia Silverstone will play her iconic character, the production did not continue.
Launching Variety, the Clueless series project was first announced in April 2025. CBS Studio and Paramount became the two parties that developed the intellectual property.
The story takes place in Cher Horowitz after the first film. Apart from the story, the production did not reveal the premise or who would play it other than Silverstone.
Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage also co-wrote the episode with Jordan Weiss. Silverstone, who originally starred, also serves as an executive producer.
Peacock streaming service also revealed plans to develop Clueless with Dionne, Cher's best friend as the main focus but the plan did not continue.
"Clueless" is a film that aired in 1995 and was adapted from Jane Austen's novel. The film tells the story of a woman who is about to marry two people she doesn't know the relationship will change her feelings.
In addition to Silverstone, the film also stars Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison, Elisa Donovan, Breckin Meyer, and Dan Hedaya.
