Ancient Site Ruins Allegedly Temple At Sambimaya Indramayu: Ming Dynasty Foreign Ceramic Fragments To Bovidae Bones
INDRAMAYU - The Regent of Indramayu, West Java, Nina Agustina, asked the team of archaeologists to immediately reveal the history of civilization found in Sambimaya Village.
"It is targeted for 12 months, sir, so that it can be revealed. Because this is very interesting, especially the history of ancient civilizations in Sambimaya," Nina said in Indramayu as reported by Antara, Monday, June 7.
Archaeological research that took place from May 24 to June 9, 2021 managed to find two large building structures along with the steps.
The team also found foreign ceramic fragments thought to be from the Ming dynasty, and local pottery shards with scratches. Includes bone fragments of the bovine or buffalo bovidae.
He targets that the Sambimaya site can be revealed in a matter of 12 months so that the people of Indramayu can know the genealogy and history of the traces of past civilizations from the site.
In addition, he hopes that the Sambimaya site can be used as a cultural tourism object as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Head of West Java Balar, Deni Sutrisna, invited the Indramayu Regency government to jointly realize the Sambimaya site area as a cultural area.
"To realize this, it is necessary to form an integrated team from the Indramayu Regency Government, West Java Balar, Banten BPCB, and Indramayu TACB regarding the remains in Sambimaya," he said.
Deni explained that land acquisition around the site is a top priority and will be immediately carried out by the local government so that the remains that are currently still buried can be immediately revealed through archaeological activities.
