Trauma Healing Becomes the Focus After the Train Accident in East Bekasi
JAKARTA - Trauma recovery is an important aspect that cannot be ignored in handling transportation accident victims, including the train collision incident in East Bekasi.
In addition to physical treatment, the psychological condition of the victim and family also requires serious attention so that the long-term impact can be minimized.
The Minister of Population and Family Development (Mendukbangga)/Head of BKKBN, Wihaji, stated that his party was ready to provide trauma recovery services for victims who needed it.
He expressed his condolences over the train collision incident that occurred at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday evening, April 27, and emphasized that the main focus at this time is handling the victims.
"Of course, we will follow up later, if we need to put a few things in parentheses related to consultation, related to family, trauma healing, usually our authority is there," said Wihaji, as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 28.
The incident involved the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the commuter line. Based on the chronology, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train departed from Gambir Station to Surabaya at around 20.30 WIB.
Not long after, at around 20.52 WIB, one of the KRLs reportedly hit a vehicle that had broken down at the Ampera Road crossing. This situation caused a disruption in travel, until finally at 20.57 WIB there was a collision between a long-distance train and a KRL train in the area of East Bekasi Station.
As a result of the incident, the number of deaths was reported to have reached 14 people. The victims have been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further identification, while dozens of other victims were injured and received treatment at various health facilities.
This incident not only leaves physical impacts, but also psychological pressure for victims and families. Therefore, trauma recovery efforts are considered an important part of the post-accident handling process.
