President Prabowo Visits Bekasi Train Accident Victims, Promises to Solve Train Crossing Problems
Bekasi - President Prabowo Subianto visited the victims of the Bekasi train accident at the Bekasi Regional Hospital, Tuesday, April 28. After visiting, President Prabowo expressed condolences on behalf of himself and the government.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also said that an investigation would be carried out to find out the cause of the incident. President Prabowo also immediately highlighted the crossing of a piece of land that has not had adequate security.
President Prabowo ordered a massive renovation at the railway crossing-prone point. Bekasi is in the spotlight. This densely populated area, said Prabowo, has proposed thousands of flyovers. He admitted that he had approved the construction through presidential assistance.
On Java Island alone, Prabowo said there were about 1,800 similar crossing points. Many of them come from the old days and still operate in the midst of increasingly dense traffic. President Prabowo emphasized that all points would be repaired, both with guard posts and flyovers.
The government has prepared a budget of almost Rp4 trillion. Implementers will be appointed and technical schemes will be calculated. The focus, according to President Prabowo, is safety and the need for public transportation that cannot be delayed.
President Prabowo said that the total number of victims still being treated was around 54 people. The handling was considered to be going well. Regarding compensation, President Prabowo ensured that compensation would be given.
