Transjakarta's Quick Response, Shuttle Prepared to Trace Train Collision in Bekasi
JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) operates a shuttle bus service from Bekasi Timur Station to Bekasi Station to help the mobility of Commuter Line KRL passengers who are affected by travel disruptions.
This disruption is the result of the accident of the Commuter Line train across Kampung Bandan-Cikarang which was hit by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train route from Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday evening, April 27.
"PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) responds to operational constraints that occurred on the KAI Commuter service on the Cikarang-Bekasi line this morning. As a form of support for public mobility, Transjakarta operates a shuttle bus service to transport affected customers at normal rates," said Head of Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani in his statement, Tuesday, April 28.
This shuttle service is focused on transporting passengers from Bekasi Timur Station to Bekasi Station so that their journey can continue in the midst of handling processes on the rail line.
A total of four bus units were deployed and fully alerted during the evacuation process at the scene. Transjakarta ensures that the fleet will continue to operate according to the needs on the ground until the train travel conditions return to normal.
In addition, the Transjakarta management also expressed concern over the incident and hoped that the evacuation process would run smoothly.
"Hopefully the evacuation process in the field can run smoothly, safely, and without obstacles, and all affected parties are given strength and fortitude," said Ayu.
The commuter line train between Kampung Bandan (KPB) - Cikarang (CKR) was hit by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train between Gambir - Surabaya Pasar Turi at Bekasi Timur Station, KM 28+920 on Monday, April 27, evening.
The incident was reported to have occurred at around 20.52 WIB. This incident resulted in a number of casualties and deaths.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) temporarily stopped all long-distance train (KAJJ) journeys from Gambir and Pasarsenen Stations following a train collision incident at Bekasi Timur Station, Monday, April 27 evening.
This policy was taken to support the handling process at the location and ensure passenger safety.
For today's departure, Tuesday, April 28, several trains that were canceled include the Gunungjati Train (Cirebon-Gambir), the Purwojaya Train (Cilacap-Gambir), the 56F-53F and 58F-59F Train, the Madiun Jaya Train (Madiun-Pasarsenen), and the Argo Sindoro Train (Semarang Tawang-Gambir).
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said the suspension of operations was carried out as a risk mitigation measure.
"All long-distance train journeys departing from Gambir and Pasarsenen Stations have been temporarily suspended to support the handling process and ensure the safety of travel," said Anne.
