PT KAI Responsible for All Needs of Victims of the Accident at Bekasi Station

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia provides compensation to victims of a train accident at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi. Vice President of PT KAI Anne Purba said that KAI is fully responsible for healing, insurance, and other needs in order to provide support to victims.

"Everything will definitely be prepared. KAI will definitely be responsible for both healing, insurance, and others. We are committed to being responsible for it," he said at a press conference at East Bekasi Station, Bekasi, Tuesday morning.

Previously, KAI had confirmed that 240 passengers of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train were safe and had been evacuated from the train accident site which also involved the Commuter Line KRL at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, West Java, Monday (27/4) evening.

Meanwhile, a total of 38 passengers of the Commuter Line KRL have been evacuated and given treatment at the hospital.

"We have evacuated 38 passengers of the KRL and transferred them to the nearest hospital, there are in Primaya, RSUD, and also two other hospitals around Bekasi Station," said Anne Purba.

He said that the victim's family, who could not be contacted, could make a complaint to the complaint post at East Bekasi Station or also through KAI's call center at 121.

KAI stated that all efforts were focused on evacuating passengers and crew of the facility, as well as handling victims at the scene with the main priority being safety.
