Brantas Abipraya Deploys 2,500 Workers, Accelerates the Construction of People's Schools Outside Java

JAKARTA - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has deployed as many as 2,500 workers from Java Island to accelerate the construction of People's Schools (SR) in a number of areas outside Java, especially in Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

Brantas Abipraya Corporate Secretary, Dian Sovana, said this step was part of the company's support for national priority programs in the education sector. He also said that each project requires at least 600 workers.

"In the field, the acceleration of the project is supported by hundreds of workers who work without knowing the time. In one location, the number of workers can reach 400 to 600 people who work alternately day and night to ensure that the national target can be achieved. This dedication is the main foundation in maintaining the optimal rhythm of development," said Dian in an official statement, Monday, April 27.

As a contractor, Dian continued, the company ensures that the acceleration of construction is not only focused on the target time, but also continues to prioritize the quality of work and occupational safety. Strengthening project management, increasing technical supervision, and implementing Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards are carried out strictly at all project sites.

In addition, said Dian, the work culture built by the company also emphasizes the value of togetherness and mutual cooperation. In the field, there is no barrier between foreman, engineer, to project leaders.

In certain situations, Dian continued, the entire team immediately helped the work to ensure that progress continued and safety was maintained. According to him, this solidarity is a force that accelerates the completion of the project in the midst of various challenges.

"Commitment to occupational safety is the company's top priority. Every project activity is preceded by a safety briefing and the disciplined use of personal protective equipment (PPE). For Brantas Abipraya, safety is not merely compliance with regulations, but part of the work culture and responsibility for every project person," he said.

He said that various challenges in the field, ranging from extreme weather, complex terrain, to logistical constraints, were faced with a spirit of non-surrender.

Furthermore, Dian said, this is also in line with the company's values in maintaining quality, timeliness, and safety as the main priority in every project.

"In addition, every project worked on by Brantas Abipraya also has a significant social impact by involving local workers. The presence of the project opens up opportunities for improving skills and the standard of living of the surrounding community, while strengthening the role of infrastructure development as an economic driver for the region," he explained.

Dian emphasized that the success of accelerating the People's School project is inseparable from the great role of workers in the field.

"The dedication and hard work of the workers are the main keys behind every progress in the construction of the People's School. They work with high commitment in various conditions, showing an extraordinary spirit to complete this project with the best quality," he said.

In addition, Dian said the acceleration of the construction of the People's School was part of Brantas Abipraya's real contribution in supporting the national development agenda, especially the equitable and quality access to education.

Dian also ensured that Brantas Abipraya was committed to continuing to maintain quality, timeliness, and safety in every project it worked on. The company will also continue to strengthen coordination with all stakeholders to ensure that projects run optimally, transparently, and accountably.

"This People's School project is not only a physical development, but also a long-term investment in producing superior Indonesian generations. We are committed to speeding up the completion of this project, of course, by prioritizing the best quality, and still prioritizing the aspect of work safety," concluded Dian.

One of the project workers, Budi, said he was proud to be involved in the construction of a school that was considered to have long-term benefits. According to Budi, the construction of a school has a deeper meaning than just construction work.

"Every cement match I work on, I imagine for the future of my children. Even though I'm far from my family, I'm proud because this is not just a job, but a contribution to their future and the children of Indonesia," said Budi.
