COVID-19 Cases Soar, Joint Patrol Officers Ban Bangkalan Residents From Going Out Of Their Houses
BANGKALAN - Religious officers from the police and TNI elements circled around with loudspeakers prohibiting residents in Arosbaya Subdistrict, Bangkalan, East Java from leaving their homes following the number of residents in the area who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
"This is a form of anticipating the spread of COVID-19, considering that the explosion of corona virus cases in Bangkalan is very worrying," said Bangkalan Police Chief AKBP Didik Hariyanto as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 7.
In addition to Arosbaya Sub-district, mobile broadcasts containing prohibitions on people not to leave their homes were also carried out by joint officers in three other sub-districts, namely in Bangkalan, Geger and Klampis sub-districts, Bangkalan.
The police also mobilized their personnel to go to villages to convey appeals directly to the community by involving Babinkamtibmas.
"So, we both deploy Babinkamtibmas and Babinsa to deliver direct counseling to the community," he said.
In addition to conveying the ban on leaving the house, the mobile broadcast by this joint officer also conveyed a message that Bangkalan residents did not travel to Surabaya, because currently Surabaya has tightened restrictions on Madurese who want to enter the area.
The spike in COVID-19 cases in Bangkalan Regency, Madura Island, East Java occurred after the Idul Fitri holiday.
