Mauricio Souza Keeps Persija Champion Asa Ahead of Facing Persis Solo Through Final Settlement

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza continues to keep his team's champion hopes alive ahead of the end of the 2025/2026 competition season. Facing Persis Solo as the next opponent, this Brazilian coach has matured the preparations by continuing to polish the team's final or finishing.

Persija Jakarta will face Persis Solo in the 30th week of the 2025/2025 Super League. The match will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Monday, April 27 at 19.00 WIB.

Before this match took place, the performance of the Macan Kemayoran was quite worrying because it achieved poor results in its last two matches. In fact, according to Souza, the team has trained hard in the final solution but until the last minute the goal was not created.

From the notes on the previous match, Souza is also more confident and determined to continue sharpening his team's final solution for a satisfactory result.

"So, as I said, we created opportunities in these last two games, but we were not effective in the final third," said Mauricio Souza at a press conference at the SUGBK, Jakarta on Sunday, April 26.

"So, in this short preparation time, we tried a lot of training in the last third of the game, with a lot of final finishing exercises, in various ways," he continued.

However, Souza also emphasized that this step is not something new that they are doing. Maturing the final settlement was said by Souza to have been worked on by the team since the start of the season.

"This (final settlement) is not something new we are working on now. We have been working on this since the beginning of the competition," explained the former coach of Madura United.

Seeing the position of the opponent, Persis Solo is currently in the bottom of the table. But for Mauricio Souza, the match against Persis Solo will still not be easy.

Therefore, Mauricio Souza stated that Persija Jakarta will focus and be determined so that there are no surprising results that will harm the team.

"We know there is no easy match in Indonesia, and we have to be very focused to avoid surprises in tomorrow's match," said Mauricio Souza.

"Solo is indeed going through a season that is not consistent. But they are also a team that has shown improvement in the last matches," he said.
