Sabu Dealer in Garut Arrested, Police Looking for Larger Network
GARUT - The Garut Police Narcotics Unit has developed a case of the circulation of methamphetamine from a suspect who has just been arrested to uncover a wider network.
"We are still continuing to develop to uncover a wider network of narcotics circulation," said Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Garut Police, AKP Usep Sudirman in Garut, Antara, Sunday, April 26.
He said that the police force continued to intensify patrols and enforcement against the circulation and misuse of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and dangerous addictive substances.
In the latest case disclosure, officers arrested a man with the initials GG (30), a private employee from Garut, in Sumbersari Village, Kota Kulon Subdistrict, on Thursday, April 23 evening.
From the results of the search, officers found one package of methamphetamine weighing 4.67 grams which had been packaged in clear plastic and ready to be distributed.
"From the hands of the perpetrator, the officers managed to secure evidence in the form of one package of narcotics suspected to be methamphetamine," said Usep.
Based on the results of the preliminary examination, the goods were obtained from someone with the initials H who is currently still being pursued by officers.
The suspect admitted to acting as an intermediary in the collection, storage, and helping the circulation of methamphetamine in the Garut area. He received money and some narcotics as a reward to be consumed himself.
"The perpetrator admitted that he had received methamphetamine several times since January 2026 and received money and some narcotics as a reward to be consumed himself," said Usep.
Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been secured at the Garut Police Headquarters to undergo further investigation and development of the network of narcotics circulation in the area.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
